RYA Yachtmaster™ Offshore

The RYA Yachtmaster ™ Offshore Certificate of Competence is gained after proving your sailing skills, applied knowledge and experience during a 8-12hr practical exam.

Whilst there is no requirement for any formal training prior to the exam, most people sharpen up their skills and refresh their knowledge by doing some specific training prior to the course. Here at Sail Nelson we run RYA Yachtmaster™ exam prep courses on selected weeks, Monday-Friday with the exam taking place immediately afterwards over the weekend. With 8-12hrs per candidate required by RYA guidelines, the finish time for the course will depend on how many candidates are sitting the exam. We might not know this until the week of the exam, so if you need to book flights ahead of time, then please allow until at least Sunday evening in Nelson.
